Holy Rosary Vicariate Solomon Islands

In 1956 the Dominican Sisters of Australia established a mission in the Solomon Islands in conjunction with the Dominican Friars and lay volunteers.

The Sisters minister in the Western Solomons at Gizo, Loga, Wagina, Nila, Sirovanga, and Moli; and on Guadalcanal at Honiara, Tenaru and Visale; and in Malaita at Auki. The Ministry of the Sisters is in the areas of nursing, teaching and pastoral care.

VICARIATE ASSEMBLY 2012

As Dominicans we are called to seek the Truth and to preach the Gospel of Jesus. Our way of life calls us to be just and fair and loving in our dealings with other people and to respond with generosity to the needs of our Sisters in community, being open with each other in our communication and listening well. Focussed upon Jesus and supported by the love of our Sisters may we be able to grow in our responsibility.

Vicariate Leadership Team

We are called to study and we should give education a high priority, taking up the opportunities offered to us and working hard to do as well as we can in the courses we take.
