Veritas Dinner - Melbourne

2 May 2017 | General Interest

Our first Veritas Dinner for 2017 to mark the feast of St Catherine of Siena, saw twenty four people gather in Siena Staff Room. We are always pleased to welcome some newcomers as well as renew friendships formed over the years with regular attendees.

Pope Francis’ inspirational encyclical, Amoris Laetitia, was the focus for our table conversation. Each guest was given a short extract from the document to share with their table companions. All were surprised at the breadth of issues addressed by the Pope – family, aging, care for the environment, dying, single parents to name just a few, and the accessible language of this church document.

Pope Francis’ understanding and compassion for real life experiences we all face each day, brought this document to life in a meaningful way.
