Melbourne Sisters Celebrate

10 August 2019 | General Interest

Three congregations of Dominican sisters have communities in Melbourne and are involved in a variety of ministries. All gathered together with our Dominican brothers for the Annual Mass for Religious celebrated by Archbishop Peter Comensoli at St Paschal’s Chapel (YTU) in Box Hill.

Over 200 religious women and men from 90 congregations in Victoria attended the gathering. There were many joyful reunions as we enjoyed the refreshments that followed.

The Dominican Sisters of Malta, (Keilor Downs) and the Dominican Sisters of St Cecilia (Melton) joined the small community of Melbourne sisters of Eastern Australia and the Solomon Islands for a festive dinner at Holyrood Street to celebrate our Father, Dominic’s Feast Day.
